Beaconhouse private schools are part of the Beaconhouse system, which also has preschools and a university. Founded in 1975, it is one of the largest school systems in the world.
The schools provide education of an international standard, focusing on teaching English using text books from the United Kingdom. Beaconhouse currently has ten schools in Malaysia, all of them in or around Kuala Lumpur. Of these, 7 are pre-schools and other 3 are Primary and Secondary schools: Beaconhouse Sri Inai, Sri Lethia and Sri Murni.
Teaching and Learning
Beaconhouse incorporates the national curriculum into its teachings. Students are prepared for the UPSR, PMR and SPM examinations. Bahasa Malaysia is the primary medium of instruction but supported closely by English.
From Standard One to Standard Six, Information Technology, Mathematics and Science are taught in English.
In teaching Science, Singapore sullabus are followed by science teachers. Mandarin is a compulsory subject. The maximum number of students in class is 25.
"Primary school students are required to participate in not more than one co-curricular activity outside school hours and for Secondary students it will increase to maximum of 2 activities outside school hours.
In terms of fees, there are different packages offered at different branches. For example, some branches offer daycare services. The relevant school office or Head of School will be able to advise you of the different services offered, and to recommend what is appropriate for your family."
