A total of RM1,734 was raised by the Garden International School (GIS) students through a charity collaboration with WWF-Malaysia.
Over 170 pieces of earbud wraps were produced by Year 7 Design Technology students over the 2-months duration of the project. Themed Earth Hour Youth Campaign 2016, the earbud wraps featured endangered species of animals in Malaysia such as the leopard, tiger, rhinoceros, sunbear and orang-utan to name a few.
A mock cheque was presented to WWF?Malaysia Brand Activation Senior Executive, Divya Prembaj at a ceremony where GIS students, teachers and staff were present.
“It’s not just about the money raised but the sincerity and initiative of the students to do something good. They apply their knowledge and skills to make a difference in the real world,” commented GIS principal, Colter Watt.
