Fairview International School Ties Up With NCUK

Kuala Lumpur: Fairview is authorised by NCUK University Consortium to offer an internationally recognised and reputable Pre University Course, the International Foundation Year (IFY) in Kuala Lumpur.

This nine-month course is recognised for being an ideal preparation for University by nurturing the development of students so that they can thrive in their academic studies at University. This is supported by the guaranteed access of up to nine UK Universities, when you pass the NCUK IFY. The NCUK IFY is also accepted and recognised by Universities in the UK, Ireland, Australia, Canada and USA.

  

As the only institution in Malaysia authorised to run the NCUK IFY, Fairview Kuala Lumpur principal, Dr. Janice Chan, states “We are proud of our partnership with NCUK, and to be able to provide another opportunity for students to excel at a Pre University Course, and have guaranteed access to a number of Universities in the UK”.  “Those who do their foundation year in Kuala Lumpur, will be able to save as much as RM130,000, compared to if they do the similar course in the United Kingdom.  They also save more than one year of their time by doing the foundation year, as opposed to doing their A levels,” said Dr Chan.

  

Entry requirements for the NCUK IFY:

• IGCSE / O Level: Successful completion of O level in five subjects at grade C or better.  The five subjects must include English and Mathematics, or
• SPM: Successful completion of Malaysia Certificate of Education (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia - SPM) with an average of grade B.
• MYP:  Have been awarded the MYP certificate, obtain a score of 34 points and above and scored five or more in Mathematics and English.

English for Academic Purposes for Proficient Users

English for Academic Purposes for Proficient Users provides students with an English language qualification that is recognised by NCUK partner universities, therefore they are not required to take IELTS when they progress to an NCUK partner university.

NCUK IFY Fairview Scholarship

Fairview will offer RM1,000 rebate for every Grade A achieved at IGCSE / O Level or SPM or RM1,000 for every perfect score in the MYP. Rebates will be offered for subjects relevant to the NCUK IFY.
