Malaysia uses Google Apps, Chromebooks to reform education system

Malaysia is adopting Google Apps for 10 million students, teachers and parents, announced Google. Moreover, Malaysian government will be distributing an unspecified number of Chromebooks to primary and secondary schools nationwide. The initiative is part of the government's effort to reform its education system.Currently, there are 10,000 schools in Malaysia. The government's plan is to equip all of the schools with 4G Internet access, a virtual learning platform and achieve computer-to-student ratio of 1:10 by 2020.
Google Apps are completely free for educational use. In contrast, Google Apps for business cost USD 50 per user per year. Over 3,000 schools around the world have now adopted Chromebooks.
