On December the 5th 2014, Rafflesia International School Puchong held its first ever Art Exhibition Evening.

With an aim to assist their chosen charity: Kiva, the school played host to students, parents and wider community alike in an exhibition of some of the incredible works completed under the tutelage of the school's Art teacher, Mr. Cesar Coronado. Since arriving at Rafflesia, Mr Cesar has transformed the environment as well as the interest of the student body in their artistic endeavours.

The evening was an incredible success and attended by a huge crowd. Works by both students and staff were entered into a silent auction for charity and each of these masterpieces were generously sponsored. There was even some spontaneous karaoke on the piano as everyone joined in the party atmosphere.

The students and their parents were justifiably proud of their works which included Bubble Art, Texture Painting, Melted Crayons, Geometric and Cubist from Junior Students. The Seniors demonstrated great creativity and skill with their Abstract drawings, Watercolor Paintings and some amazing Cultural works which highlighted aspects of African, Caribbean, Middle American and Australian Art. Additionally, Year 10 IGCSE students were able to highlight growing and impressive portfolios for submission in their final year of study.

The first class facilities will surely be enhanced with such decorations of artistic endeavour. As Mr Cesar said wisely, "The school is our canvas, not just a campus".

Rafflesia aims to educate the whole child; not just maintain a narrow academic focus. Through the Art and Design programme, they hope to develop students into bold, creative, expressive individuals who are proud of the achievements they make through their persistence and passion.
