SEG International Bhd (SEGi), which is among the top private higher education providers in Malaysia, is planning to build an international school at a 12-acre site in Setia Alam, Shah Alam. The whole structure will be worth over RM400milion upon completion, which is scheduled at the end of 2014. The school will be able to accommodate between 3,500 and 4,500 students. Aiming both local and overseas students, the school will have hostel facilities for boarding students.

The group's foray into the international school segment will make SEGi a holistic education provider, providing the complete spectrum of education from early childhood up to secondary schooling at its international school as well as undergraduate and postgraduate studies at its tertiary education institutions.

The international school will have up to 70% qualified expatriate staff. SEGi is also in the process of setting up collaborations with foreign university partners to improve the soon-to-be built international school's teaching and learning quality. Currently, SEGi offers higher education to around 28,000 students through its six key campuses in Kuala Lumpur, Kota Damansara, Subang Jaya, Sri Kembangan, Penang and Sarawak.
