Favourite Summer Getaway: Lucca, Italy

"This vacation, I am returning to Italy, which is one of my favourite destinations. Luca, in particular is a gorgeous historic town enclosed by a large stone wall. The roads are made of cobblestones and the villagers are so very friendly. This is definitely worth a detour from Pisa."

Margaret Rafee, Principal, Sri KDU International School

Favourite Summer Getaway: Sri Lanka

"My favourite holiday destination before coming to Malaysia was Sri Lanka and I would definitely recommend it to my students and parents because of the beautiful white sandy beaches, the wildlife and the smiling, friendly people. Sri Lanka is close to my heart because it is the birth country of my husband and over the last 30 years we have visited often with our children who were always sad to leave to return to the UK."

Favourite Summer Getaway: Galle, Sri Lanka

"The holiday destination I would recommend to my students is Galle in Sri Lanka. It is a very special place to me as I went just after the Tsunami. I was overwhelmed by the grace and strength of the people we met who were just overcoming much personal tragedy.

Galle Fort is on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. It is a UNESCO world heritage site with so much wonderful architecture to see. I love the fact that you can have a sumptuous high tea in an old Colonial Hotel or grab some ‘short eats’ in a local restaurant, within a few yards of each other. My favourite thing is to walk around the walls of the fort and enjoy the sound of the pounding waves."

John Mackle, Principal, Sunway International School

Favourite Summer Getaway: Ha Long Bay, Vietnam

"Spend some big money and fly to Hanoi, Vietnam and then arrange a car transport to Halong Bay for a 3 day 2 night cruise. Ha Long Bay “Bay of Descending Dragons” is a UNESCO World Heritage site and offers spectacular ocean karst topography. Your small cruise ship will feature great accommodations and meals as well as breath-taking scenery, kayaking, visits to remote villages and tours of gigantic caves."
