A Ramadhan to remember for Idrissi students

The blessings received during the month of Ramadhan by Idrissi International School.  Ramadhan this year has been a special one for the students of Idrissi Islamic International School. Students of Idrissi kept themselves busy by working on something useful. They got together and researched on how long do other Muslims in other parts of the world fast. Their findings were documented on a big world map on a wall of the school’s hall, and in the process, they got to learn about the conditions other Muslims fast in from different parts of the world. On the map, they could see how the geographic locations of the countries affect the number of hours in fasting.The children were also tasked to write about their fasting experiences and what Ramadhan means to them. They share their experiences by pasting their stories on a special Ramadhan Wall in the school’s exhibition area. Every day, the children get to read their friends’ experiences and also read hadeeths regarding Ramadhan. By sharing such thoughts, they experience the beauty of fasting and its benefits. They know that everyone have their own experiences and that when facing hardship in fasting, that they are not alone. The key is to stay focused and be patient.Finally, the school organised a friendly Quran challenge, named the Junior Qari International Primary School Friendly Challenge and Islamic Books Day. The main objective of the challenge was to gather, build and strengthen the silaturrahim among teachers and children from various International schools within Kuala Lumpur. It was the first Quran challenge ever organised amongst international schools. It was such a heart-warming sight to see the little Qaris recite the Quran so beautifully as well as little Daies explaining on their understanding of the Quran.All in all the two weeks of Ramadhan in Idrissi School was definitely a memorable one.
