GIS Hosts Award Ceremony for Top Achievers

Garden International School (GIS) recently hosted the 2015 Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards Ceremony at their Mont Kiara Campus. There were 19 high achievers from GIS this year receiving awards in the June 2015 examination series.

Several dignitaries from the education sector including Malaysia's Deputy Minister of Education Hon. Senator Chong Sin Woon who was also a keynote speaker during the event, attended the ceremony. GIS Head Boy, Shaun Gan also gave a speech on behalf of the student body.

The Oustanding Cambridge Learner Awards are given out by Cambridge International Examinations to recognise exceptional learner achievements around the world, students and teachers included. GIS, known for providing quality education further demonstrates their commitment with 3 of their students receiving 'Top In World' standing for having gained the highest standard mark in the world for a single subject.

8 GIS students received 'Top In Country' standing for gaining the highest mark in a country and another 8 were recognized with the 'High Achievement' award for achievements in subjects which are not so widely taken. 

?Determination, perseverance and diligence are skills that I'm sure the students here are more than well acquainted with. These are the students who have put their words to action, and produced phenomenal results,?? commented Shaun Gan, Head Boy of Garden International School.
