GIS teacher to speak at Google EdTechTeam Summit

James Abela, who is the Garden International School Lead Teacher for Computer Science will be speaking at the Google EdTechTeam Summit, here in Kuala Lumpur, on 7th November 2015.

As World Technology Teacher of the Year 2014, he has been invited to share his experience of teaching coding with visiting teachers from across South East Asia and will be showing that computational thinking is an essential skill that can be used across the curriculum and is not just for computer programmers.Computer Science degrees have seen a surge in popularity across the globe recently, and not without good reason. Surveys show that on average,Computer Science graduates earn the highest salaries and are greeted with the best job prospects on graduating.James was awarded the prestigious title World Technology Teacher of the Year 2014 for his work in producing coding and programming related teaching resources. Alongside teaching KS3, IGCSE and A-level Computer Science at GIS, he provides a number co-curricular activities to encourage computational thinking and develop coding skills for beginners right up to advanced competition level programming, all available to those interested in developing the way they think.
