Idrissi Islamic International School organised an International Day celebration to inculcate unity without borders among its young students. The approach was through fun experiential learning whereby the students are guided to research & hand-make the exhibition materials as well as dress up in the foreign country’s traditional costume.

Learning about international unity and differences in tribes and nations around the world was an enjoyable and exciting experience for the children. Such experiential activities are core to Idrissi School’s learning curriculum in producing smart, well-rounded children with good characters.

"They don't realize it, because it is not done by theory. Everyone is so excited, not just to research and gather materials from visits to Embassies and such but to practically cook for everyone to taste, sew the costumes and crafts and sell them! It is beyond any expectation,” said Puan Zaliza Alias, House Director of the Idrissi Islamic International School.

As one of the children’s big projects this year, they were guided by their Homeroom teachers to research for materials and share their findings in their booth displays. There were a total of 12 countries represented namely Indonesia, Libya, Nigeria, Sweden, Spain, India, Vietnam, Egypt, China, Uzbekistan, Turkey and Brazil.

The event was also joined by the team from Islamic Relief Malaysia who gave a short talk on the plight of the less unfortunate children all over the world.
