MOE Releases FAQ For PT3

The Ministry of Education (MOE) has published a document of frequently asked questions about the PT3 assessment for parents to refer to.

 

1. The assignments used for testing are:

  • written assignments
  • practical tests
  • project work
  • performances
  • demonstrations
  • Fieldwork
  • Case studies

2. History is not assessed presently using a written exam. This is because more is expected out of the students. They need to research using primary sources and use the skill of learning how to learn. Therefore, students are required to present their knoweldge using creative and critical thinking skills.

3. Students who have moved schools and are sitting for a subject which was offered in the previous school but not the current one need to present a formal letter to the principal and the State Education Department if they want to sit for the subject.4. Students who have recently returned to the country are allowed to sit for the PT3 as long as it is within the period of the exams and the assessment has not ended.5. When a student moves to another school, they will need to bring these documents along:

  •  School Assessment Achievement Scores (Pencapaian Pentaksiran Sekolah)
  •  PAJSK scores
  •  Psychometric test scores
  •  PT3 scores for assessments which have been conducted in the previous school.
