Programme to stop school dropout in Sabah, Sarawak

On 17th April, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhiyiddin Yassin launched the Sabah and Sarawak Interior Schools Education Transformation programme which would serve as a vital platform to address the dropout dilemma in secondary schools.

In the same breath, the initiative also be the Education Ministry's channel to empower the standard of education in Malaysia, specifically in bridging the gap between rural and urban schools.

Through the transformation, State Primary School Teachers Management assistant director Zainun Johari said that selected primary schools would be upgraded to Level I secondary schools offering Form One to Form Three education.In this regards, six primary schools in the Comprehensive 9 category in Sabah had been selected for the initiative, he said.
