Colourfulflames, sound waves which blew out fire out of a flute, and toothpaste for an elephant? Could this day have been more crazier? The students ofUCSI International School Subang Jaya were involved in all sorts of fun experiments on their annual Project Fair. The purpose of the fair was to inculcate critical thinking, resourcefulness and presentation skills in the secondary students. In addition, the primary children were able to observe, learn and ask the senior students questions.

Students dazzled the parents and their peers with the breadth and depth of their knowledge in various topics such as electromagnetics, nuclear fusion, nuclear power plants, aerodynamics, exothermic reactions and ferrofluids. One group showed the audience how fire changes colour when exposed to different kinds of salts. This is how the colours of fireworks are made.

Another team from Year 7 played musical notes using varied levels of water in glass bottles. The notes were arranged to the colours of the water.Yet another group investigated  the relationship between rock music and a person's state of focus.

The Project Fair was open to parents and students from the UCSI Springhill campus.

The principal of UCSI International School Subang Jaya, Alice Ong was thrilled at the creativity and ingenuity of her talented students.
She hopes that more international schools would participate in their project fair in the coming years.
