About Bintulu International School (BIS)
Bintulu International School (BIS) is a joint venture between ELC International Sdn Bhd (elc International School) and Vital Focus Group (VFG). It is situated in the 200-acre of mixed township development called "Kidurong Sentral" by Menawan Megah Sdn Bhd (a member of VFG) in Kidurong, Bintulu, Sarawak. With the rapid industrialisation of Bintulu, access to quality education within Bintulu to cater for the expatriate and local community has become a community need, which prompted the developer to enter into the BIS venture. The developer needed an established partner with the right kind of expertise for the venture to be successful. The search for a suitable partner was rapidly narrowed down and eventually elc International School, a relatively small English-medium school operating out of 2 campuses in Selangor, West Malaysia,At Bintulu International School the children will follow a broad and varied curriculum based on the National Curriculum for England & Wales in conjunction with Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). A typical school day at BIS will involve active learning through a wide range of subjects and activities that focus on developing our students into lifelong learners who adapt to their circumstances making them into confident and conscientious global citizens. In order to make the academic programme at BIS competitive, the programme is designed to engage students and give them the knowledge, understanding and skills they will need to meet the day-to-day challenges that they will face. BIS will take from CIE its best practices and combine them with the leading teaching practices of today so that the BIS curriculum best suits the demands of the local requirements and meets the expectations of the international market.
The facilities provided in BIS are aimed at achieving academic excellence and behavioural qualities so essential for success in the real world. When completed the campus will house an Administration Building, the Primary School Building, the Secondary School Building, both of which will have purpose built classrooms, a Canteen, a Pool House with a training pool for young swimmers and an 8-lane short course [25m] pool, Science Labs, IT Labs, a Library and a 1.7 acre field for a variety of sporting activities. There will also be a Sports Multipurpose Hall which will house an indoor basketball court marked to also include badminton courts.

*The Admissions Fee per family is required to be paid once the student has been offered an official placement at BIS.
Deposit
The Deposit Fee is the equivalent of one term's fee and this is paid at the point of admission.
Re-Admission Fee
RM 3,000
*For families seeking to return to BIS with an absence of not more than 18 months from the last recorded school day will be required to pay a readmission fee.
