About Vikas International School
Vikas International School is a co-educational institution with classes from kindergarten to tenth standard. It was founded by Dr S Gunasekaran, who is also the Managing Director of the Vidyaa Vikas Education Trust. The charitable trust was established in 1996 before the commencement of the higher secondary section in 1997.The school keeps the number of students per class very low, to allow for the active participation of each student. This also allows the teachers to follow each student's progress closely and provide individual help.
Vikas is affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi, India, and uses its progressive methods. The school programme is divided into three areas namely, Scholastic which includes language, mathematcis, life sciences and social sciences, Developmental which is physical health, art, moral, and audio visual education and also Co-curricular activities including dance, music, art, creative write, public speaking and cultural activities.
Utilising the CBSE curriculum, the school places an emphasis on numeracy and science which provides students a solid foundation for enhanced problem solving skills and cognitive reasoning. Coupled with the school's programme on languages that include Hindi, Tamil and Bahasa Malaysia, students at the school are given the very best of both worlds.
The school has boarding facilities provided for students on a weekly or full time basis. With modern facilities and a dedicated pastoral staff, students at the hostel are expected to follow stringent house rules and a holistic schedule that includes morning yoga exercises and mandatory news reading.
Beyond that, the school also has dedicated learning facilities that are fully air-conditioned with ICT tools and healthcare facilities.
