Peninsula International School Australia recently held a talk on ‘Healthy Communication with Your Children’ by Dr Brendan J. Gomez at its official premises with 30 parents in attendance. It is the first installation of a series of free monthly talks throughout 2019 on a variety of topics that support and help parents in the educational development and parenting of children, conducted by early childhood and education experts in the industry.

Peninsula International School Australia and its partner, Peninsula Grammar in Australia, recognise that both parents and teachers play an important role in children’s learning, development and wellbeing, and that children generally do better when there are positive connections between the different spaces they learn in.

“A key aspect of parental engagement involves family-school partnerships. This includes connecting what children are learning at school with how they learn at home; helping families to respond early to children’s learning challenges; and extending children’s learning around the things they are passionate about,” said Mr Clive Rogers, Founding Principal.

The talks were organised in collaboration with SEGi University and Colleges which have well-developed Faculties of Education, and which have established its presence among educators. The list of talks can be found here: https://www.peninsula.edu.my/category/news-and-events/

Peninsula International School Australia is a collaboration between the HCK Group and Peninsula Grammar, a reputable institution in Melbourne, Australia. It offers the Victorian Curriculum for children aged 6 to 18.

The Victorian Curriculum is known for its holistic learning and seeks to nurture students based on their capabilities and disposition, rather than age. It culminates in the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), a tertiary admission requirement widely accepted by leading universities in Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States and Malaysia, among others.

Strategically located in Setia Alam, the school is part of a 12-acre mixed development in a thriving, award-winning township. It is the first of HCK Group’s international schools to open under the Peninsula branding.

The school’s Founding Principal, Mr Clive Rogers, is a veteran educationist whose career spans over 40 years across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Caribbean. Most of the teachers in the school are expatriates, who have good experience in nurturing young minds.

Peninsula International School Australia has a capacity of 2,000 students and boasts of state-of-the-art facilities like science laboratories, music room and a modern library. It also has a pool, an indoor sports hall, two outdoor courts, one football field and an auditorium that can accommodate 450 people.

The HCK Group is no stranger to education. Its Executive Chairman, Tan Sri Clement Hii is also the Group Managing Director of the SEGi University and Colleges, a leading tertiary education provider with 20,000 students across five campuses.
