The Education Ministry will study the modules used by private schools which have enabled these schools to create world-class programmes. The modules will be adapted and used as a guide by the government-run schools. Deputy Education Minister Datuk Mary Yap Kain Ching said the move could further improve each module currently being used at government day schools.

"It's not wrong to carry out such a study as, for example, the Cempaka Schools Malaysia have emerged overall champions for the fifth year in a row in the World Education Games (WEG). We can learn from them," she said after the convocation for bachelor's degree grandaunts of the Institute for Teacher Education.

Yap said the module study could also assist the ministry in drawing up plans and strategies, besides producing more efficient and competitive students. She also mentioned that ministry has collaborated with the Malaysia Innovation Agency to introduce the i-THINK programme at the school level so as to produce human capital with creative thinking.

"The implementation of this programme will help raise students' performance as they will be more focused, confident and active, while forging closer relations between students and teachers," she added.
