IGB International School to open in Sungai Buluh in 2014

IGB International School (IGBIS), which plans to be a day school, will be built for 1,200 students with a capacity to expand to 1,500 students. The school will deploy the International Baccalauareate (IB) curriculum and provides education to students aged 3 to 17.The school will have:-Junior School (Slated to open in January 2014):-

Kindergarten: 3-5 year oldsGrades 1-5

Senior School (Slated to open in August 2014) :-Middle School: Grades 6-8High School: Grades 9-12

IGBIS also targets to offer extensive programmes for the broader community, including arts, sports and continuing education. These programmes will be carried out in weekends, holidays, evenings and after-school.Curriculum The school aspires to be a 4-Programme IB School. It plans to follow the IB Primary Programme (Kindergarten-Grade 5) and the IB Middle Years Programme/IGCSE (Grades 6-10). For Grades 11-12, it already obtained the IB Diploma Candidate Status. In the future, the school might offer the IB Career Certificate.Moreover, through its curriculum, co-curriculum and after-school programme, the school will place its focus on sports, arts and languages (Malay, Mandarin, ESL and French) as well as outdoor education.
