PERMATApintar: Unleash the potential of gifted students

Currently, PERMATApintar National Gifted Centre is Malaysia's first and only centre of excellence responsible to identify talented and gifted students throughout the country and give them the opportunity to develop their talent and potential. The special programme is developed, executed and monitored by the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).Online tests

                                       hand In order to search for potential talented and gifted students, the centre developed IQ screening tests called PERMATApintar UKM1 and UKM2 tests. The two tests have been criterion validated with Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-IV) and Raven's tests.UKM1 test:Target group: children aged 8-15Availability (Online): January until end-June each year [*Subject to change]

Jointly developed by UKM and Johns Hopkisn University - Centre for Talented Youth (JHU-CTY), the programme consists of 13 courses. All of the courses are aimed the help students develop their creativity and potential as well as to identify students who will be offered to study at the institution.PERMATApintar Education Programme (The High School Programme)The full boarding high school is situated at UKM. It has 40 academic staff teaching various courses. A total of 62 UKM senior lecturers and professors act as the high school's research mentors. The high school has three academic tracks:-Accelerated track: Focuses on National Curriculum, SAT, TOEFLNational track: Focuses on National CurriculumO-level track: Focuses on British educationCompulsory courses:- 2 Mathematics courses offered by the Faculty of Science and Technology- 2 foreign languages offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences HumanitiesTuition fee is around RM1,500 a year. Now, there are 224 gifted and talented Malaysian students studying at the school. Students graduating from the high school will receive their high school diploma from UKM.
