FANCY a 12 year old building, a solar powered car, a group of 10 years old students focused on Ipad’s researching into child labour and abuse or preschool children playing violin in unison just after 10 weeks of classes! And children as young as seven running excitedly into school armed with a trombone on one hand and a robotics set in another.
These are the children of today in Fairview – children who thirst for more than just knowledge. In Fairview, we have broken the shackles of age old traditions to sow in students the desire to discover, explore and question.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Programmes in Fairview through the transdisciplinary, interdisciplinary and disciplinary nature of the programmes demand integration with all disciplines achieved only by well thought off and carefully crafted planning.
The result – Our IB Diploma students regularly score 42 out of the maximum of 45 in their test scores thereby gaining preferential admissions into well renowned universities all over the world with some offering full scholarships and/or credit waivers.
But bear in mind, an International Baccalaureate education is more than a paper chase. What we do is to balance students’ lifestyles, through the acquisition of a range of skills from writing to critical analysis and evaluation to name a few linking experience to one that is authentic, real and most importantly for life itself.
This is what IB can bring to the table, but it is best served on a Fairview International School table, as we are the first in Malaysia to have all 3 programmes under ONE roof thus definitely making us the leaders in IB education. In addition, we have the largest group of IB trained teachers as well as the largest network of IB schools in Malaysia with five campuses.
With Mandarin as the additional language integrated in the curriculum, with the ‘One Child, One Policy’, with our Eduresort in Port Dickson and the bi-annual expeditions to thoroughly studied overseas location complementing and extending classroom learning, student experiences are not just made memorable but shape them to be ready to take on the world.
Formed in 1978, Fairview International School (FIS) is the country’s largest International Baccalaureate (IB) education provider in Malaysia. Our network of five IB schools stretches from Kuala Lumpur to Johor in the South and as far as Penang in the North of Peninsular Malaysia. The Kuala Lumpur campus offers the IB programmes from the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP) under ONE ROOF.
University College Fairview (UCF) is the FIRST IB certified educational institution in South East Asia that is allowed to train IB teachers in the standards set by the Geneva based International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO).
