In our first feature, we shared ideas about adventurous activities that can be carried out during the school holidays. But if your kids do not like such active play, you could try arts and crafts.
For art-loving kids, this is a must visit spot. The Craft Complex features a large display of local arts-and-crafts, including pottery, rattan baskets, batik materials and woven songket. Under the guidance of the complex’s staff, the children can also have their first attempt at batik painting.
Classes are very much hands-on and the kids will be taught A to Z of baking or cooking. Family classes allow parents and children to participate together. There are also children’s cooking camp and children’s baking camp during the school holidays.
Pottery and clay-crafting classes are offered for both children and parents. The young ones can join the Creative Clay Workshops to explore their artistic side. Such workshops comprise single session clay projects. The children can also take part in the Kid’s Hand Building Classes, available only during school holidays.
Lara’s Place, which is an abbreviation of Learning And Recreation Activities & Shop, provides a wide range of classes for adults and kids. Children can join various activities, ranging from sewing, ballet, balloon sculpturing to cooking and baking. Adults or teens also have multiple choices ranging from vocal and dance lessons, parenting workshops and grooming lessons. There are outdoor, educational trips, family nature trips as well as school holiday programmes for 3-17 years old.
MyFah aims to empower children to express themselves in creative ways as well as develop artistic ability and self-esteem. The art centre caters to participants as young as four years old up to 19.
