SPM examination might be relocated due to safety concerns after a helicopter belonging to the Royal Malaysian Armed Forces crash-landed on school premises.SPM exams may be relocated if SMK Balung unsafeFollowing the helicopter crash in SMK Balung, Sabah where 23 people were injured, The Star reported that Deputy Education Minister Datuk P Kamalanathan said SPM examination might be held elsewhere if the school building is deemed unsafe."If the school was chosen to be an examination centre, we have to relocate the students" he told reporters yesterday at the launch of Indian Community Centre in Gemas, Negeri Sembilan.Additionally, SMK Balung was instructed to close for 2 days for safety purposes and to aid the ongoing investigation into the incident. The 8 injured students have received medical treatment and six of them have been released. The remaining 2 students are reported to suffer from trauma and are set to receive counselling.The school will be assessing the affected parts and report the cost needed to fix the premises. The ministry have also instructed the school to submit a report on the incident to ensure the safety of all staff, teachers and students and to provide the necessary assistance to individuals needing it.The SPM exam is scheduled to be held from November 7th until December 6th.
