Aiming to go beyond providing excellence in education,Taylor’s International School Kuala Lumpur (TISKL) had its official launch yesterday, 17th April 2014 which was graced by YAB Datuk Seri idris Jusoh, Minister of Education II.
The school is latest addition to the Taylor’s Education Group, which provides comprehensive education spanning Early Years (age 4) to Secondary (Age 16) based on the National Curriculum of England and Wales, which provides qualifications under the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE).Taylor’s International School,Kuala Lumpur provides holistic learning that focuses on balanced development for students with an emphasis on character development and academic achievements grounded in the best values of East and West.
The Minister in his officiating speech commended the school’s ethos in driving holistic education very much in line with the aspirations of the government and was certain that it would “help to develop our nation’s youth into productive global citizens who will ensure that Malaysia remains competitive in the global arena.”
Dato’ Loy Teik Ngan, the Group CEO of Taylor’s Education Group said that “As a group, we are committed to continue our fine tradition of providing world class education to our students. With 63 years of academic excellence, we strive to always be at the forefront of the education landscape in Malaysia and be the people’s choice in education.”
BK Gan, the President of Taylor’s Schools in his introductory speech highlighted that they seek to provide students with multiple choices throughout the education pathway spanning from the age of 4 to tertiary education. He added that “this is how we hope to meet our nation’s manpower need by preparing a new generation of confident leaders for the country as it journeys towards being an industrialised nation by 2020.”
The launch also showcased the numerous talents of the students at TISKL with a stirring performance from the school’s choir and orchestra singing the school’s anthem “Taylor’s, Finest in the World” and a performance by the home grown “STomP” group who created wonderful music using every day objects such as water drums and bamboo poles.
Guests were then taken on a tour of the school aided by students around the school grounds, highlighting the extensive school facilities as well as interaction with the students and teachers of the school.
Taylor’s International School, Kuala Lumpur is the first campus under Taylor’s International School, which will be followed by a second campus in Puchong, scheduled to open in January next year. As part of theTaylor’s Education Group, which includes Taylor’s College and Taylor’s University,Taylor’s International School,Kuala Lumpur strives to continue the heritage of educational excellence.
In 2013, Taylor’s Schools, Taylor’s College and Taylor’s University were awarded by the Ministry of Education a "6 star rating", the highest rating in their category in addtion Taylor’s University achieved Tier 6, the highest D-SETARA rating by the Ministry of Education for Hospitality and Tourism discipline.
