Autistic Savant Artist receives letter from the US President

Delwin Cheah, Malaysia's first autistic savant artist received a recognition letter from the President of the United States, Barrack Obama for his artwork.

Delwin who was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome with the IQ of 114 at the age of five, punlished an art book entitled “I Can Draw” two years ago highlighting the ability to draw with a pen perfectly without making any mistakes with his strokes.

Erina Law, Delwin’s mother said that the letter from President Obama came as a pleasant surprise and hope that this recognition would continue to support and encourage parents of autistic children. She also mentioned that sharing the recognition to create awareness on autism and support parents of autistic children and how they can help to inspire them.

Delwin whop started drawing at the age of three and is recognized as the world’s youngest autistic savant artist to hold a solo art exhibition in 2013.
