Dong Zong answers back, not an "Extremist Organization"

Datuk Dri Hassan Malek made those allegations in a recent AGM and crtisized particulary on the association's plan to moot the UEC issue to the United Nations. 

 

The United Chinese School Committees Association or Dong Zong has refuted claims by the Minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism, Datuk Sri Hassan Malek that it is an "extremist organization". While not intending to take any legal action, the association has called for a dialogue with Datuk Sri Hassan Malek in order to clarify the aims of Dong Zong if Datuk Sri Hassan Malek intends to understand it better. The association has claimed that the teaching materials are based mainly on the national curriculum and Bahasa Malaysia is a mandatory subject for all Chinese schools.

The United Examination Certificate (UEC), a recurring flashpoint between Dong Zong and the Malaysian government is the standardized test run for students in over 60 Chinese high schools that is still not being recognized by the Government of Malaysia.
