GEMS International School's two-week-long Swimming Gala came to a splashing finish on 31 March 2022.

Students competed in various categories such as butterfly, freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and the little ones’ favourite - the noodle race to gain house points.

Students leapt from the launching pads with so much vigour, kicking and pulling their way to the opposite end of the pool whilst the stands erupted in ecstatic applause and thunderous cheers!

This was also a fantastic opportunity to uncover promising prospects who may represent GEMS International School at upcoming swimming competitions. The PE Department is looking forward to forming our own "Dream Swim Team" and assisting students in reaching new heights, adding to our medal collection, and putting the School on the ‘swimming map’!

It was both refreshing and heartening to use the swimming pool to host a community event that promoted so many school ideals in a pleasant and unifying way. The children and staff were definitely revitalised after the sessions. It was a shame parents could not come and cheer on their children.
