Vital Information

The German School Kuala Lumpur (DSKL) offers students a quiet, familiar and safe learning environment.

In Kindergarten, qualified educators are taking care of children aged between 2.5 and 6 years in mixed-age groups in a well-structured daily routine. The work is guided by the mission statement of DSKL as well as the Quality Framework for Kindergarten and Preschool set out by the ZfA. The German language is integrated into everyday life. They offer a variety of fun activities in the afternoon and preschool education for the children in their last year at Kindergarten.

The Primary School comprises Years 1 to 4 in a small and family-like environment. In order to strengthen social cohesion and creating a trusting learning environment for the children to develop their full potential, DSKL organizes projects and joint festivals across the campus. By ensuring a smooth transition from Kindergarten to Primary and Secondary Education, DSKL offers targeted language support, specific academic support and a varied all-day curriculum.

DSKL offers education for a total of 12 years: The Lower Secondary Level maybe completed leading to the award of the General Certificate of Education (Year 9) or O-Level Certificate (Year 10), depending on the type of school. At the Upper Secondary Level, Year 10 is followed by another two years at the Secondary Level II, leading to the German International Abitur, a university entrance qualification recognised both in Germany and internationally. The curricula incorporate the cultural, religious, ethnic and historical peculiarities of Malaysia, with a clear international focus through bilingual education. Furthermore, DSKL provides students with essential resources and guidance for their university studies and career choices.
