About Fairview International School - Kuala Lumpur Campus

Fairview International School Kuala Lumpur (FISKL) is the original Fairview campus, established in 1978. It is also described by Fairview as its oldest and largest IB school in Malaysia, offering the complete IB continuum from the Primary Years Programme through to the IB Diploma Programme.

The campus is located in Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur, and provides education from pre-school through Year 13, culminating in the internationally recognised IB Diploma. The school says its teachers are predominantly internationally trained and experienced.

Fairview's approach is strongly student-centred, with students encouraged to explore their interests, discover their abilities and learn through authentic experiences rather than being confined to conventional classroom learning.

International Baccalaureate Curriculum

Fairview Kuala Lumpur offers the full IB continuum:

IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)

IB Middle Years Programme (MYP)

IB Diploma Programme (DP)

This means students can potentially progress through all three major IB programmes within the same campus.

Primary Years Programme – PYP

The PYP focuses on developing students as active and engaged learners.

The programme emphasises:

Inquiry

Critical thinking

Communication

Research

Collaboration

Reflection

International-mindedness

Students are encouraged to connect classroom learning with real-world situations.

Middle Years Programme – MYP

The MYP provides the secondary-stage IB pathway and encourages students to apply academic knowledge to real-world situations.

The programme develops:

Critical thinking

Research skills

Problem-solving

Communication

Creativity

Collaboration

Global awareness

Fairview describes its MYP as encouraging students to solve problems, demonstrate creativity and engage with their communities.

IB Diploma Programme – DP

The IB Diploma Programme is the pre-university programme offered in Years 12–13.

It provides students with a broad and academically rigorous programme designed to prepare them for university and further education worldwide. Fairview describes the DP as developing students intellectually, physically, emotionally and ethically.

The Kuala Lumpur campus began its IB Diploma journey in 2010.
