About Garden International School Early Years Centre

Garden International School Early Years Centre (EYC) firmly believe in the provision of an environment where pupils feel valued and have the self confidence to become life-long learners, achieving their full potential whilst at the same time enjoy their learning. The learning environments are well resourced and maintained providing the pupils with a range of multi sensory activities.

At EYC, we offer many learning activities both inside and outside the classroom. For the past 2 years our Early Years Department has been promoting their children’s well-being, confidence and resilience through our Jungle School program. GIS Jungle School is a program based on the ‘Forest Schools’ approach in Europe but using the KL locality to inspire their children to become ‘ambassadors for nature’.

The Garden International School Early Years Centre (EYC) encourages young pupils to learn not only within the classroom setting but also outside of classroom. To uphold this ethos, the Jungle School programme is incorporated as part of the learning syllabus for pupils from nursery to reception level.

The Jungle School programme aims to promote the holistic development of all those involved, fostering resilient, confident, independent and creative learners. It is is an inspirational process, that offers all learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a natural environment.

Pupils are taken to a contained jungle location where the children are free to explore the area, taking their learning in whichever direction they choose. Our team of skilled teachers and parents are on hand to supervise and support their learning by questioning and giving the children time to reflect on what they are doing.

Among the significant skills and knowledge acquired through the Jungle School programme are sawing, den building, weaving, boat and fairy house making, tree climbing, minibeast hunting and natural art designing and so on.
