About HELP International School

Established in January 2014, HELP International School (HIS) is one of the fastest growing international schools in Malaysia, with a population of over 1,200 students and over 150 experienced and passionate teachers from all over the world. Its school motto - “Life in All Its Fullness” - translates into a vision of empowering students to enjoy a full school life and preparing them to live significant lives as adults, equipped with leadership skills.

The school is located in Subang Bestari, just 30 minutes from KL city center. HIS offers education from preschool level up to A-Levels. Within the first two years of its operation, HIS is awarded a 5-star rating by the Ministry of Education under SKIPS (Private Education Institutions Standard Quality Evaluations Awards Programme). It is also a featured school for IPC (International Primary Curriculum), a registered centre as a Cambridge school (offering IGCSE and A- Levels), and an approved provider of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award. Most recently, HIS is recognised as an Apple Distinguished School for being the model of innovation in education, and as a Common Sense Certified School: Digital Citizenship for its dedication in teaching young people how to be safe and responsible digital citizens.

At preschool level, HIS adopts the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC), a thematic approach where learning is both enquiry-based and play-based. At primary level, the curriculum is a combination of the British curriculum and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) which ensures participative learning using a comprehensive and thematic approach. The curriculum is also complemented with Singapore Mathematics syllabus that emphasises on critical thinking and problem solving. The secondary school curriculum is based on the British Curriculum, and it recently adopted the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) for lower secondary. It culminates with students sitting for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) with Cambridge International Examinations (CIE).

At A-Levels, the unique Asian Scholars A-Levels Leadership Programme seeks to develop all-rounded leaders by providing them the opportunities not only to excel academically but to develop leadership through their service to the school and community at large.

In equipping our students to be global citizens, besides instilling a sense of international-mindedness since primary level under IPC, students are taught multiple languages in school. English is taught with a strong emphasis on literature. Mandarin is compulsory for all students, and French and Spanish are optional modern foreign languages. Bahasa Malaysia is mandatory for Malaysian students in compliance with Ministry of Education requirement. There is also learning support provided for Second Language learners.

With its philosophy of education that is both global and holistic, HIS offers an educational experience that encourages all-round development and inspires students to live life to its fullest. Students are exposed to developments in the following areas which we termed the eight masteries: intellectual, physical, social, creative, emotional, moral, career and leadership. Furthermore, being under the HELP Education Group with 30 years of rich tradition in educational excellence, allows for convenient access to shared resources and expertise from the highly established HELP University.

HIS is housed in a beautiful purpose-built campus which reflects its philosophy that ‘learning should be a joyful experience’.

The campus includes a multi-purpose hall that caters for indoor sports, a large library suited for students of all ages, design and technology facilities, a deli-canteen serving meals overlooking a green courtyard, a black circle performance arts theatre, and a sheltered swimming pool, amongst other amenities.

In a fully Wifi environment with Apple tools and technology in all the classrooms, laboratories and teaching spaces, the school seeks to optimise and harness technology in all aspects of learning and equip students to be prepared as 21st century learners.
