About IGB International School (IGBIS)

IGBIS is a vibrant Early Years to Grade 12 international school that provides a dynamic, innovative and inclusive learning environment where students are challenged to excel in both their learning and personal growth. An International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, IGBIS is the only school in Malaysia authorised for the full continuum of IB programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), and the Career-related Programme (CP).

IGBIS is owned and operated by Detik Harapan Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of IGB Corporation Berhad. IGB Corporation Berhad is a renowned and highly-respected leader in corporate initiatives and property development in Malaysia and beyond.

IGBIS is located in a pleasant residential neighbourhood only 14 kilometres from the centre of Kuala Lumpur. The area is well connected by the North Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), Lebuhraya Damansara Puchong (LDP) and Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2). The campus is also very close to the railway station for KTM Komuter’s Rawang-Seremban Route and the MRT station in Sungai Buloh.

In preparing students for life in a fast changing, increasingly complex and more interdependent global community, and to give real substance to the critical goal of ensuring that students ‘learn how to learn’, IGBIS considers that best practice in education achieves the best results. The highly regarded IB programme helps students to develop the intellectual, personal, emotional, and social skills to live, learn, and work in a rapidly globalizing world.

As a university preparation, the IB is highly valued by leading universities worldwide. The IB aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. This philosophy underpins the curriculum, co-curriculum and after-school programmes at IGBIS with an aim of inspiring students to become principled, global citizens.

The IGBIS school community is exceedingly proud of their second year of graduating students who, just like the inaugural year graduates, earned excellent DP results. They achieved a 96% pass rate and a school average of 34 points, which was well above the worldwide average of 29.95 points. 20% of students scored above 40 points. IGBIS graduates are now attending some of the top universities in the world, including University of Cambridge, University College London, Imperial College London, University of British Columbia, and Northeastern University.

Now in its fourth year of operation, IGBIS offers a variety of subjects, including a focus on sports, the visual and performing arts, languages, outdoor education and service learning. The school has an established digital platform, with the latest laptop and touch-enabled devices, and comprehensively incorporates information technology to enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
