About International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL) - Ampang Campus
Established in 1965, the International School of Kuala Lumpur is accredited in the US through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and internationally through the Council of International Schools. Over the years, ISKL has grown tremendously and it now has more than 1600 students who come from more than 60 countries across the world. The school also places great emphasis on social, emotional and moral development and encourages its students to lead balanced lives outside the classroom.International School of Kuala Lumpur offers programmes from Prep Reception (3 years old) to High School diploma which is either the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma or Advanced Placement (AP) courses.
ISKL is a technologically advanced school, and technology plays an important role in the lives of the students and teachers. At ISKL service-learning is utilized both in the classroom and in co-curricular clubs/activities. Though Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is not a required component of all service learning experiences, it does provide an excellent foundation upon which to identify issues that have global significance, but which are dealt with (through service learning) at the local level. In short, service learning is a natural bridge of the ESD curriculum and compliments ISKL's school wide learning results (SLRs).
Facilities at both campuses of International School of Kuala Lumpur in Ampang (Middle and High School) and Melawati (Early Childhood & Elementary School) provide a solid structure to support students and the learning process that takes place at ISKL. The library at both campuses provide not only books and magazines but an extensive range of online subscriptions that are available via the school's online library catalogue.
Indoor and outdoor canteens at ISKL provide nutritious meals for students daily. A set lunch is available at the Elementary School. Students in the Middle and High Schools get to choose from a variety of menus. Transportation within a 45km radius is also provided by the school via it's busing service using modern buses which are monitored safely by the school.
