About Lodge International School
Established in 1953, the Lodge International School is run by the non-profit Lodge School Association. It is located in Kuching, Sarawak, the school uses the National British Curriculum and all textbooks used in the school are sourced from the UK. The school has a wide range of extra curricular activities including sports clubs and societies and encourages students to participate in extra curricular activities to broaden their skills and interests.The school offers the British National curriculum From Year 2 (age 7) to Year 9 (age 16). It also offers the University of Cambridge IGCSE and IGCE A level examinations in the Senior School. In addition to Bahasa Melayu (Malay), students have the option of studying Korean or Mandarin Chinese. All Malaysian students are to take Moral studies (Pendidikan Moral), Local Studies (Kajian Tempatan) in Year 5 and Year 6 and in Year 7 to Year 9, students are also required to study Malaysian Studies (Sejarah). Islamic Studies (Pengajian Agama Islam) are to be taken by all Muslim students.
LIS shares it's campus with it's sister school, Lodge Private School, this allows it to share some of the facilities and amenities available at the campus such as cafeteria and the sick bay. The school offers adequate facilities that range from dedicated learning spaces and classrooms to sporting facilities that provide students with recreational options while in school.
