About Malaysian Shanghai International School
Dear MSIS Families and Community:Welcome to Community International College! We are excited that you have chosen MSIS and we are glad you’ve joined the family. I am honored to serve as Executive Principal of MSIS and to be a part of a culture steeped in rich tradition and academic excellence. MSIS is accredited through the Ministry of Education, Malaysia and is the only school in the world to run two curriculums simoutanously namly the Cambridge IGCSE and Chinese Curriculum. The school is joint venture between Cempaka International School, which has a rich history of over 30 years of producing batches after batches of excellent Cempakians and Rainbow Tree Education Group from Shanghai. With the collaboration, the joint venture brings in new dynamics and academic excellence and produces the first dual-track curriculum – IGCSE and Chinese Curriculum. In fact, dual-track is an under statement, as our graduates after completing the IGCSE curriculum, have the option to pursue the Canadian Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
MSIS students have the opportunity to participate in a diverse range of sports and activities, including: competitive & recreational. The school Sports & Activities provides a competitive sports program for students in grades 9 through 12, as well as other after school sports clubs and training activities. Our student athletes participate in friendly competitions with other international schools and also in a number of local and international tournaments. The school also organizes internal competitions for Junior High school & primary school students including Soccer Day tournament, Swimming Carnival and Field and Track Day. The arts play a big role in the lives of our students — both in the classroom and extracurricular activities. MSIS is proud of its extensive arts programs, including stage performances. Other Arts programs include studio arts, drama, music and dance. Students in elementary and middle school take arts classes throughout the year with specialist teachers. MSIS has beautiful, modern facilities to support the arts programs, and the school hosts many concerts, theatre productions, art exhibitions, and dance performances during the school year. On top of Sports and Arts, students who wants to help the school ad develop their leadership skills can be involved in our Clubs and Societies.
