About Mutiara International Grammar School (MIGS)
Established in 1997, the Mutiara International Grammar School is located in Ampang. Over the years, the school has established itself as a well-equipped institution of learning. The school screens its student applications because it believes in quality rather than quantity. MIGS accepts children from the age of four. At the end of the Reception Year they are eligible to sit the Entrance Exam for Year 1.MIGS offers the British National Curriculum at all stages and the Montessori approach of teaching young children.It conducts two internal examinations each year to monitor the level of attainment of each student.
External assessments are conducted at the age of 11 (Key Stage 2) and at all ages by the University of Durham CEM online baseline testing system. Key Stage 4 culminates in IGCSE examinations conducted by the University of Cambridge.
MIGS has an array of facilities that provide students the balance between work and play within the school grounds. The school library is well stocked and equipped with books and resources for students and teachers alike. The library hosts a monthly Reading Olympics where students are encouraged to read and prizes are given out to students with the most amount of books read in the month.
Beyond that, the school has a total of 5 dedicated science laboratories and another two more computer labs. Students also have access to dedicated learning spaces for arts and a dining hall.

- Designated drop-off and pick-up areas within school grounds under close supervision from security personnel.
- Registration and verification of visitors at the guardhouse prior to entering the school.

- Approval from Head of School prior to taking out a student during school hours due to illness, injury or any other reasons.
- Prohibition of students leaving the school grounds during school hours.
- Supervised waiting area for late student pick-up after school hours.
- Insurance coverage for every student while at school and during school trips/camps.
- Designated smoke-free zone for the entirety of the schools’ grounds.
- Regular fire and other safety drills are conducted to ensure that our students and staff know what to do in various emergency situations
