Pelita International School

The secondary curriculum here at Pelita International School (PIS) is designed to extend students’ academic ability as well as nurture the emotional and physical development of students. The active curriculum directs students in developing thinking, reasoning and learning skills which provides students a solid foundation for the future. The secondary curriculum culminates with the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), an internationally recognised qualification which paves the way for further studies in many countries. At PIS, the Primary education foucses on teaching and learning of essential literacy and numeracy skills in active learning settings. Upon completion of primary education in Year 6, students will write the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Exams in English, Mathematics and Science. The school operates on a philosophy that children have multiple intelligence, and aims to develop students' IQ and EQ (EQ is taught as a subject).Besides encouraging co-curricular activity among its student (including the performing arts), emphasis is placed on community service.
