About Sekolah Rendah Swasta Simon Fung
Established in 1988, Sekolah Rendah Swasta Simon Fung is part of St Simon Educational Complex, that also contains a preschool and secondary school. All four sections are run by the same Board of Management and Board of Trustees.The school encourages bilingual literacy in its students (Bahasa Malaysia and English) and also provides a foundation for a third language. Emphasis is placed on learning language through literature. The school also uses projects and multimedia research to develop independent learning.
In Sekolah Rendah Swasta Simon Fung, all core subjects in the Government curriculum are covered to prepare students for the UPSR examination in Primary 6. For the teaching of English, additional classes including literature and reading program will be included. Social studies will be teached in English as a theme based enrichment subject, which integrates with the English program. Meanwhile, Mandarin Chinese is divided into three levels to cater to all students' needs.
The school aims to provide a child-centered, stimulating and nurturing environment for learning in the academic areas as well as in terms of learning for life.
They also provide language environment which encourages the development of both bilingualism and bi-literacy in Bahasa Melayu and English as well as providing a foundation in a third language. Special emphasis is placed on language learning through literature.
