About Sekolah Wadi Sofia
Sekolah Wadi Sofia was founded by Datuk Hassan bin Harun, a well-known Malaysian politician, entrepreneur and private educationalist. Sekolah Rendah Wadi Sofia (SRWaS) and Sekolah Tinggi Wadi Sofia (STWaS) are private primary and secondary schools owned by Wadi Sofia College, a private limited company that manages international and national schools.English and Bahasa Malaysia are the medium of instruction for primary and secondary levels. All subjects are taught in Bahasa Malaysia except mathematics and science subjects. The schooling system is modeled on the elite residential schools of the country.
Sekolah Wadi Sofia aims to educate, develop and nurture the young as future leaders in fields of human endeavours to meet the challenges of the rapidly changing world brought about by the explosion of knowledge and the advent of extremely dynamic technologies.
The system of schooling at Wadi Sofia emphasize holistic education and learning encompassing a balanced development of the students physically and mentally. Overseas students especially from Thailand, Brunei and Indonesia are accepted into the schools subject upon the approval of the Ministry of Education, Malaysia.
Kota Bharu is an ideal location for a school, which aspires to provide a holistic education away from the urban challenges which worry most parents.
Wadi Sofia provides boarding for students, with separate accommodation facilities for boys and girls from secondary 1 (13 years old and above). It provides boarding for both male and female students. Other than wardens and several other teachers, all key personnel of the school, namely the Principal, Deputy Principal and Registrar live within the campus.
Hostel students are allowed to go for outings once every alternate Saturday. Each alternate Saturday is meant for either girls or boys only.For an additional charges, air-conditioning can be installed in individual rooms.
