About Straits International School Penang Campus
Straits International School aims to prepare our students to take their place in an ever evolving and challenging world, striving for continuous excellence in their pursuits, tempered with empathy for others. We are committed to a style of education that demands academic rigour but recognises that success can be counted in many ways.We employ a large number of qualified British teachers and follow a British Curriculum from Nursery to Year 11(3-16 years old) as we believe that education in the UK encourages independent, thoughtful, and confident students. We offer the widely recognised Cambridge International qualifications with students sitting for Cambridge Checkpoint Tests in Years 6 and 9 and IGCSE’s in Year 11. To enhance their learning experience all students from Year 4 and above are provided with a Chrome book.

Our secure and fully enclosed campus uses a state-of-the-art security system which has been evaluated and approved by major multinational corporations .On campus guards monitor an advanced security-camera system 24 hours a day.
- Homework
SIS encourages creating, distributing and grading assignments in a paperless way by adopting Google Classroom. All students at Year 4 and above receive a free Google Chromebook at the beginning of the academic year or during enrolment. Students use Google Chromebook to enhance their learning experience.

Parents can easily access teachers via email or face-to-face communications during daily dismissal. You can meet up with the Principal during the Coffee Morning on alternate week to share feedback and opinions or make an appointment anytime. Our school also hosts several events or celebrations involving parents to foster a community feel. Besides, the school also host parents meeting termly to meet up with parent in order to discuss their child’s development
