The school is named after the founding principal, Mrs. Dorothy Nelson-Doig’s hometown, Tenby, a small fishing village in Wales. Tenby has a few campuses throughout Malaysia - Ipoh, Penang, Setiea Eco Park, and Setia Eco Gardens. The Miri campus offers only the national curriculum.
