About The International School @ Parkcity
The International School Parkcity (ISP) offers a challenging programme of study, broadly based upon the National Curriculum of England. Founded in 2011 and operated by ParkCity-Brighton Education Sdn. Bhd., it is a joint venture between Perdana ParkCity Sdn. Bhd. and Brighton Education Group Sdn. Bhd.The school has a unique House System which consists of four houses named after famous animals of Malaysia, “Gajah”, “Penyu”, “Harimau” and “Badak”. The house system allocates students into different houses upon enrollment. Throughout the year, inter-house competitions are held to develop the self-esteem and social skills of students such as teamwork. Students who show exceptional school values and dedication in the participation of inter-house competitions are recognised and awarded for their individual achievement and effort.
The International School ParkCity’s aim is to produce students who are able to take a leading role in the global community. The three main components of the school’s curriculum are the core subjects, creative arts, and global awareness.
ISP provides comprehensive stages of education. From the age of 3 to 18, the school encapsulates teaching and learning into three main themes which are “learn”, “play” and “grow”. With the aid of experienced and dedicated teachers and state of the arts facilities, the school seeks to nurture and empower young students in a comfortable learning environment.
Primary education is based on the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and British National Curriculum which provides students with a pathway that leads onto Secondary Education with the IGCSE and A-Levels. With a combination of academic, personal and international learning, the curriculum provides linkages in the themes that the students study as well as relevance and interest.
At secondary level, students are prepared in a comprehensive framework that guides students into IGCSE and A-Levels. With a packed and well versed curriculum, students at ISP are encouraged with a learner-centered and inquiry-based environment that subsequently leads them into any pre-university examination of their choice.
ISP also encourages students to balance out academic needs with an active co-curricular culture. With an extensive list of clubs and societies ranging from the Glee Club to Creative Cooking, students are provided the opportunity to learn as well as make new and lasting friendships with fellow students.
On-campus facilities include a well-equipped library, a newly built swimming pool, a dedicated secondary block to deliver the core subjects of Maths and English as well as purposed built Science labs. 24 hour security is provided within the compounds of the school via a network of CCTV’s and security personnel. A small infirmary with an attending nurse to cater to the medical needs of the students is available onsite.
Students also get access to off-campus amenities located within ParkCity Clubhouse. This includes a multi-purpose hall, indoor badminton courts, lap pool and fun pool as well as the Sports Centre which comprises of a FIFA-size football field and two basketball courts.
The school also engages a transportation company that provides students with transportation services from home to school. An attendant accompanies the bus driver to ensure all students’ safety and wellbeing during the journey. The school’s cafeteria provides a bountiful choice of healthy, nutritional and well-balanced meals.
Across each week throughout the year we offer over 70 teams, clubs and activities that cater to the diverse interests of our students at ISP. Most CCAs take place after school, however some also take place in the morning before school and on weekends.
A key element of the CCA programme is to promote enjoyment and fun but we also aim to broaden students’ experiences, present new challenges or provide opportunities for activities that they would not otherwise be able to experience.
Our well-developed performing arts and creative arts programmes compliment our academic curriculum, as do the sporting opportunities available at ISP. Our comprehensive range of Co-Curricular activities augments school life at ISP, as does the internal House System that encourages healthy competition between students at all levels. Our distinct Community Outreach and Life Skills (COALS) programme ensures that our students are well-rounded individuals who display integrity and who understand the need for compassion and respect towards others.
