About Tunku Putra International School
Tunku Putra International School is named after Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj ibni Almarhum Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah, Malaysia's first Prime Minister. Opening its doors since 1997, the school is owned and operated by Cahaya Mata Sarawak (CMS).The school has established a good reputation with excellent examination results over the past few years. It maintains a purposeful atmosphere with a well integrated community supporting student learning.
Besides academics, the school places emphasis on co-curricular activities - music, art, drama and sports are given time and space and teachers and coaches in these activities are experts. The school offers education from kindergarten to secondary level.
In primary level, they provide a caring, supportive learning environment for students as the students prepare to become lifelong learners. The aim of the International Secondary Programme is to build upon the solid foundations established by the Primary Programme in order to give students the best possible opportunity to succeed in their studies and in the world that lies beyond the school gates.
The secondary curriculum builds upon the solid foundations established at primary which gives students the best possible opportunity to succeed academically in secondary school and beyond.
With a wide selections of extra-curricular activities from cooking to yoga,football to badminton, secondary school students are provided that delicate balance between work and play.
Facilities at Tunku Putra International School include a network of classrooms that are fully air-conditioned, with ICT tools such as multimedia projectors and smartboards along with dedicated learning spaces for arts, languages and science. The school also has a large multi-purpose hall with AV facilities that serve host to multiple occassions at the school.
Sporting facilities at the school include a running track, football pitch and traning basketball courts.
