About Vital Years
Vital Years focuses on early english literacy through its Early English Literacy Programme. This programme encourages students to improve their literacy in English through books from an early age so they will be able to be independent readers as they progress. One lesson comprises of 4 main skills which kids are expected to master namely reading, writing, speaking and listening. Vital Years also focuses on the development of social skills and also the building of self confidence so kids can start communicating effectively and be more interactive during class activities.The recommended age for a child to start is around 2 years old because it is important to expose children to english from an early age so as to build their confidence in speaking the language. Vital Years promotes intuitive learning which means that they can learn better through intellectually engaging activities such as listening to stories and singing songs and rhymes.
Teachers at Vital Years are given thorough training and are required to attend workshops and personal development courses throughout their term as teachers. This is to maintain the quality of education because good teachers will inspire students to be just as exceptional.
All Vital Years centres are equipped with interactive SMART boards to encourage interactive learning. A SMART board uses touch detection for user input which would enhance the learning experience of children as it will increase their attention span. SMART boards are also known to refine visual discrimination and is beneficial for kids who are visual learners because they can use their strength to their advantage in class.
Their main approach is the natural way of learning which means that they are not going against the nature of learning for children. Everyone has the ability to distinguish everything around them from the moment they were born thus the Vital Years programme is built on this very premise.
