Making the leap to an international school is a big decision. Admissions processes can feel complex, fees can be opaque, and it's easy to feel overwhelmed before you've even walked through the school gate.

This guide is designed to make the process of considering Australian International School Malaysia (AISM) as clear and stress-free as possible.

Step 1: Know If AISM Is the Right Fit

AISM welcomes students from age 3 (Nursery) to age 18 (Year 12). Entry is available throughout the academic year, so you're not locked into a single intake window.

Students are placed into year groups based on age and the academic year of enrolment. AISM publishes a Year Group Placement Schedule that compares Australian, British, and Malaysian education year groups — useful for parents transitioning from other systems.

AISM's annual tuition fees range from approximately RM42,000 to RM88,000 depending on year group, making it competitive within the international school landscape in Malaysia.

From 1 July 2025, a 6% Service Tax (SST) applies to annual school fees exceeding RM60,000 per student, in line with updated Malaysian government requirements.

Included in the tuition fees:

AISM also offers a Pre-University Scholarship for high-achieving Malaysian students entering Year 11, covering up to 100% of tuition fees, application fee, deposit, and admission fee for Years 11 and 12.

6. What does a typical school day and week look like for a student in my child's year group?
7. How does the co-curricular programme work, and how are activity selections managed
8. What is the teacher retention rate, and how long have most teachers been at the school?
