Kuala Lumpur, March 8, 2023 - Beaconhouse Malaysia School Group proudly announces that Ms. Katarzyna Czapor (Kate), Head of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), has received the esteemed International Forums of Inclusion Practitioners Global Inclusion Award 2024 for her exceptional contribution to inclusive education. This accolade, bestowed upon individuals and organizations from 39 countries worldwide, recognizes 149 recipients across eight categories, highlighting their commitment to diversity and innovation in the education industry. This recognition celebrates her outstanding achievement in implementing a groundbreaking QR code tracking system, revolutionizing the support for students with SEND across 15 schools of Beaconhouse Group in Malaysia.

In the diverse landscape of education, supporting students with SEND poses unique challenges, varying across different schools. The Beaconhouse Malaysia School Group faced the hurdles of inefficient progress tracking and inadequate budget for comprehensive monitoring systems, particularly when external specialists were involved. Recognizing the need for improved communication and collaboration, Ms. Katarzyna Czapor initiated an inclusive approach, breaking down silos within the organization. The objective was clear: to create an environment where every student felt valued and welcomed, fostering a culture of inclusivity and innovation on a global scale.

To address the challenges at hand, Ms. Katarzyna Czapor introduced a revolutionary QR code tracking system tailored for students with SEND. QR codes proved to be an ideal solution due to their versatility, ease of use, and cost-effectiveness. The system had two main applications: during the referral process, teachers could scan a QR code, streamlining the initiation of support conversations, and every student on the SEND register had a unique QR code linked to a Google form document containing individual goals. This facilitated efficient tracking of student progress, providing a transparent and accessible platform for collaboration among all stakeholders involved in the support process.

The implementation of the QR code tracking system yielded a profound and positive impact on the efficiency and quality of support for students with SEND within the Beaconhouse Malaysia School Group. Real-time data analysis empowered educators, specialists, and therapists to adjust their methods, fostering effective communication and collaboration. The reduction in paperwork, shortened response times, and increased consistency in referrals showcased the system's tangible benefits. Beyond the logistical improvements, the QR code tracking system instilled a culture of inclusivity and innovation, marking Beaconhouse Malaysia School Group as a role model for global inclusion in education.

Ms. Katarzyna Czapor's commitment to breaking down barriers and enhancing support for students with diverse needs has not only earned her the Global Inclusion Award 2024 but has also positioned Beaconhouse Malaysia School Group as a pioneer in inclusive education practices. As we celebrate this achievement, we reaffirm our dedication to fostering an educational environment where every student can thrive, regardless of their unique learning needs.
