About Nexus International School

Located in the administrative capital of Putrajaya, the Nexus International School aims to educate youths and ready them for the global community. The teachers at Nexus are highly-qualified and come from various parts of the world. Great emphasis is placed on ICT at Nexus and classrooms are well-equipped with ICT tools as both teachers and students use it for everyday teaching and learning.

The teachers at Nexus International School are predominantly British but there are also other nationality teachers from around the world. 

Nexus International School uses the International Primary Curriculum at the Primary school level and then move onto the British National Curriculum in Secondary school.

 

Secondary School study culminates in the IGCSE exams (Years 10 & 11) and students have the option of pushing forward with an International Baccalaureate diploma (Years 12 & 13). Classrooms are separated with dividing walls. There are 1 teacher and 1 teaching assistant in each classroom up till year 3, and from thereon there is 1 teacher per class. 

 

In the secondary level, teachers sometimes merge classes for students attending labs and scientific activities to increase their communication, teamwork and critical thinking.

Nexus International School provides boarding facilities for students of Years 5 to 13. The boarding programme here aims to expose students to a new experience of learning within the safe environment of the school while at the same time develop social and living skill.

 

The pastoral care provided by the boarding house staff is one that is attentive and nurturing.n With 24-hours round the clock security and access to medical facilities, boarding students at the school are provided with the very best.

 

The school's large compound allows for a large number of facilities and amenities that the students would need. With dedicated learning spaces that are not only age-sensitive but also subject-focused, students here are also able to enjoy the plethora of indoor and outdoor sporting facilities available at the school.

  • Nexus One Card is a multiple application identification card for the learners, staff and parents. 
  • All drivers seeking vehicle access to the school grounds must display a current vehicle pass on the front of a motorbike or on the right side of the car’s windscreen.
  • Helpers/drivers are requested not to wait on the school premises during school hours unless they are asked by the class teacher to participate in that day’s activities.
  • The school has Group Personal Accident coverage for all students and staff, as well as Public Liability, Fire, Consequential Loss and Burglary coverage for the school. 
  • The entire school campus is a designated smoke-free zone.

Nexus Library has a friendly and relaxing atmosphere. It strives to help children, young people and the whole school community to find reliable information, use the information effectively, collaborate productively with others, develop knowledge and safely navigate the Internet through Information Literacy Class and Library Induction Programs. We believe these skills will help them to become life-long learners with those programs run by qualified Librarians. Our library resources consist of collections from Early Years up to IB level with a wide diversity comprising fiction, non-fiction, series, picture books, graphic novels, textbooks and more. 

Besides that, our library has subscribed to various databases such as e-books, e-journals,and e-magazines in addition to the physical collections.

Moreover, Nexus Library actively organize events such as Book Week, Visiting Authors, Book Fairs, Workshops which engaging with learners, parents, staff and many more.
