About Nexus International School

Nexus International School Malaysia is a Taylor's Education Group school located in Putrajaya , offering education from ages 3–18 . The school describes itself as a learner-centred, inclusive and innovative international school built around its proprietary Nexus Way philosophy.

The school follows a continuous pathway from Early Years through the IB Diploma Programme , combining internationally recognised frameworks rather than using a single curriculum throughout all age groups.

The academic pathway is:

Early Years → International Primary Curriculum → Nexus Middle School Programme → IGCSE → IB Diploma Programme.

Nexus places particular emphasis on innovation, inclusion, relationships and learner mindset , while also developing students through sport, performing arts, technology, outdoor learning and leadership.

Early Years

Nursery & Reception | Ages 3–5

Nexus's Early Years programme provides a personalised, interactive learning environment built around purposeful play, exploration, collaboration and creativity . Children learn through indoor and outdoor activities designed to develop social, emotional and academic skills.

The Early Years environment includes:

  • Interactive learning zones
  • Outdoor play areas
  • Sandpit
  • Construction materials
  • Mini vegetable garden
  • Stream and nature-based learning.

Nexus also incorporates a Forest School Programme , giving younger learners opportunities to explore nature and develop resilience and curiosity through outdoor learning.

Primary School

Ages 5–11 | Years 1–6

Nexus follows the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) at Primary level. The school describes the programme as thematic and concept-based, combining academic learning with personal development, international-mindedness and character development.

The curriculum places emphasis on:

  • Inquiry
  • Communication
  • Collaboration
  • Creativity
  • Research
  • Personal development
  • International-mindedness.

The IPC is designed to develop the whole child , rather than focusing exclusively on academic achievement.

Middle School

Years 7–9 | Ages 11–14

Nexus has developed its own Middle School Programme to bridge the transition between the IPC and IGCSE.

The programme combines subject-based learning with:

  • Digital literacy
  • Global citizenship
  • Communication
  • Creative arts
  • Wellbeing
  • Critical thinking
  • Independent learning
  • Real-world application.

This is an important differentiator because students do not move directly from a thematic Primary curriculum into IGCSE; instead, Nexus provides a dedicated Years 7–9 transition programme .

IGCSE Programme

Years 10–11 | Ages 14–16

Students progress into the Cambridge IGCSE programme .

Nexus offers a broad selection of IGCSE subjects, allowing students to build pathways towards different university and career interests.

The school describes IGCSE as a rigorous academic stage while continuing to develop:

  • Independent learning
  • Digital skills
  • Critical thinking
  • Real-world application
  • Communication
  • Future career skills.

Nexus has also introduced digital microcredentials alongside the IGCSE pathway, allowing learners to develop additional real-world digital skills.

IB Diploma Programme

Years 12–13 | Ages 16–18

Nexus offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) as its pre-university pathway.

The IB Diploma includes:

  • Six subject areas
  • Theory of Knowledge
  • Extended Essay
  • Creativity, Activity & Service (CAS).

The programme is designed to develop students who are:
