7. Taman Botani Malaysia, Shah Alam

 

Formerly known as the Bukit Cerakah forest reserve, the 800 acre park offers a multitude of family fun activities; start off by zip-lining through the forest canopy with Skytrex before kayaking or try your luck at fly fishing by the lake and still make time for the cute animals at the animal park.

6. Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Center (KLPAC)

 

A bastion of the arts, this performing art center is packed with an array of theater shows and performances all year round. Located in Sentul Park, KLPAC has workshops and a performing academy, training over 1,500 students in performing arts.

5. Pasar Seni

Built in 1888 as what was the central wet market of Kuala Lumpur, Pasar Seni has gone through a significant turn-around and now stands as a cultural arts landmark of the city.

 

A hub of culture and arts, the Central Market boast an art gallery annex along with multiple food kiosk, restaurants and stores selling art and souvenirs.

4. KL Bird Park

10 minutes drive from the city center; the KL Bird Park (KLBP) is a 20 acre sanctuary to 3,000 birds.

 

With 20% of the world’s bird species, KLBP is touted as the experience that most resembles life in a tropical forest; the park practices a free flight policy which allows for birds to roam around freely in 3 of the 4 zones in the park.

3. The National Bank Museum

 

A display of thousands of coins, bank notes and other forms of currency, the museum offers a glimpse into money and the different forms of currencies in one continuous timeline from the past to the present.

The museum is a great place to educate your child on money and the virtues of saving it. It has a special “Kids Section” that also helps to educate children on money and the virtues of saving.

2. Batu Caves

 

 

A shrine dedicated to Lord Murugan, Batu Caves is a sight to behold. With 272 concrete steps up into a magnificent series of caves and temples, this is a place worth visiting; just remember not to feed the monkeys!

1. Farm in the City

 Earning rave reviews on social media, this village themed petting zoo has more than a total of 100 species of exotic animals and another 40 types of tropical local fruits.

 

 

The “farm” practices a “no cage” policy with all of the animals and put great care to ensure the safety and wellbeing of animals and visitors alike. Visitors are able to touch and even feed the animals in a safe and fun environment.
