About Australian International School Malaysia (AISM)

The Australian International School Malaysia (AISM) offers Australian education taught by highly qualified international teachers, predominantly Australian trained and experienced.

The Australian curriculum offers seamless transition into education pathways in Australia and provides an international qualification recognised by top universities around the world. Growing steadily over the years since its inception in 2000, the school caters for children from age 3 (Pre-school) to age 18 (Pre-University).

The Australian International School Malaysia (AISM) overlooks the picturesque South Lake of Mines Resort City, a short drive from Kuala Lumpur City Centre. The school houses its Junior, Middle, and Senior schools on one campus and has more  students represented by over 30 different nationalities.

Australian International School Malaysia was recently recognised as the first Certified Visible Learning School in the world. Australian International School Malaysia was recently recognised as the first Certified Visible Learning School in the world. Visible Learning is an evidence-based approach to teaching and learning researched and developed by Professor John Hattie of the University of Melbourne.

School Curriculum : 

 

The Australian International School Malaysia (AISM) uses Visible Learning. Visible Learning For the year of 2020 students of AISM achieved the highest possible Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) of 99.95. The ATAR is a number between zero and 99.95 that ranks a student in their year group. Part of the new Australian curriculum is to focus on Food and Agriculture. The Australian International School Malaysia has expanded the school's kitchen facilities. In addition to that it offers units such as Design Technology Food , Food and Nutrition. Other electives offered by AISM are textile and design units. The AISM also offers hands-on Digital Technologies and Agriculture Unit. AISM has new plant systems being introduced in it’s programme for the Agricultural unit. In this unit students are able to combine growing plants and learn to control the plant’s environments through the use of electronics 

 

STEM : 

Junior, Middle and Senior students  in AISM engage actively in STEM projects in four subjects across the school - Information and Software Technology, Design and Technology, Science and Mathematics. They participate in a yearly STEM showcase where they present and demonstrate their projects & experiments to the community.

KLANG VALLEY’S HOTSPOT

Located within the twenty kilometres radius from prominent cities, it takes an average of 30-40 minutes to get to AISM from places such as Kuala Lumpur, Bangsar, Petaling Jaya, Mont Kiara, Ampang, Putrajaya, and Puchong. We offer transportation services to and fro from our school for some of the areas that we cover.

 

EASILY ACCESSIBLE ANYWHERE

Our location is surrounded by many important roads, such as SILK Highway, North-South Expressway, Sungai Besi Expressway (SBE), MEX, the South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE) and KESAS.

 

SMOOTH TRAFFIC FLOW

Nearly 60% of our students travel to our school daily from different parts of Klang Valley as far as Bangsar, Mont Kiara, Petaling Jaya and Ampang. The journey to-and-fro our campus is against heavy traffic flow from these areas during peak hours, making it a hassle free drive.

 

As school begins at 8.50am, our bus pick up times for most routes are between 7.00 to 7.30 am. This makes commuting real convenient and easy.

 

OPEN, GREEN CAMPUS

Nestled within a gated community, our 7.5 acre campus is surrounded by lush nature, which overlooks the picturesque South Lake of Mines Resort City. Walk into our school and be enthralled by its openness and green trees, which is hard to come by in city schools.

Our campus is safely located within the gated Bluwater Estate, which is guarded 24 hours a day. With a fully fenced school compound, we also enforce strict security procedures for our students’ safety.

 

CLOSE TO RESIDENTIAL AREAS

The proximity of the residential area to the school is sometimes important to some of our parents. Our campus is close to many gated residential areas such as Gita Bayu, Bluconstellation, Country Heights Kajang and more. We even have families who ride their bikes and scooters to school! ABUNDANT AMENITIES

Situated in the heart of Seri Kembangan, our location has nearby amenities and facilities such as malls (The Mines Shopping Centre & IOI City Mall, Putrajaya), petrol stations, eateries, golf clubs and healthcare businesses. The Serdang KTM Station, one of the major rail stations on the KTM Komuter line, is just 3 minutes away from our school.

AISM is double gated and guarded, with stringent security procedures. We are safely located within the  gated Bluwater Estate, which has 24 hour security, and AISM is fully fenced and guarded 24 hours a day. Our security precautions include:

 

  • Monitored pick up of our students, only by registered vehicles

  • All parents and employees are issued with identification passes and to wear the passes in the school compound

  • Any school visitors without passes are required to provide identification.

The students will have homework and the amount of homework will be vary from Primary up to Secondary level.

Students who do not require EAL support will have the option to choose a second language.

  • Primary school offers Bahasa Melayu or Mandarin.

  • Secondary school offers Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin or French.

More than half of our student population come from approximately 15km away from the school. Therefore, our bus services are integral part of the school. The school starts at 8.50 am and thus, the average pick up timing only starts from 7.30 am onwards from various locations.

 

AISM is fortunate to be against the traffic congestion flow in the early mornings and after office hours, thus making travel from especially Bangsar, Mont Kiara, Ampang, Petaling Jaya and Damansara an ease.

Australian international school Malaysia promotes competitive sports. The school has actively participated in district , inter-school competitions , state and international level competitions. International Level competition is the AISA ( Australian International School Association )  games. During the pandemic , AISM organised a Virtual Run , with 262 entries across 19 international schools. 

On the creative side, there is a yearly major production, music showcase and creative arts week. AISM has over 60 co-curricular activities. The popular ones are Model United Nations , Barracudas Swim Squad, Performing Arts, Music, F1 in Schools.
